Order management that connects everything: shop, point of sale, stock and bookkeeping

What is order management?

An order management system (OMS) is the central place where every incoming order is captured, processed and tracked, from payment to delivery. It connects your sales channels to your stock, your warehouse and your bookkeeping.

With separate tools that means exporting, importing and checking by hand. With Afosto it happens automatically.

Why separate tools fall short in multichannel retail

If you sell through your own webshop, bol.com and a physical shop, your operation soon starts to jam:

  • Stock is out of sync: an item shows as 'in stock' on several channels while it has already sold
  • Orders go missing: copying between systems leads to mistakes and delays
  • No live overview: you only find out at the end of the day how the day actually went

Afosto solves this by making OMS, WMS (warehouse management) and POS (point of sale) work together in one platform. Every order, whatever the channel, lands straight in the same system, with real-time stock status.

What Afosto's order management does that other systems do not

OMS + WMS + POS in one platform

Afosto is not a bolt-on OMS plugin. Orders, warehouse management and point-of-sale sales run on the same database. No sync problems, no double entry.

Connections with bol.com, Kaufland and more

Selling on several marketplaces? Orders from bol.com and Kaufland come into Afosto automatically, including returns handling.

Real-time stock across all locations

Every order adjusts your stock straight away, in your warehouse and at all points of sale. No overselling, no disappointed customers.

Automatic connection with carriers

Generate shipping labels and track and trace straight from the order. Afosto works with the most-used carriers in the Netherlands and Belgium.

Connection with Exact and other bookkeeping packages

Invoices and order data are pushed through to your bookkeeping automatically. Exact Online is supported out of the box.

Set up rules and automations

Route orders automatically to the right warehouse, split orders, or assign order states based on your own logistics rules.

Omnichannel point of sale (POS) built in

In-store sales count automatically towards your central order management and stock. No separate point-of-sale app that stands apart from the rest.

B2B and B2C in one platform

Manage business customers with price agreements and payment terms alongside consumers, without a separate system.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions about order management

Practical answers for retailers weighing up a move to an integrated platform.

What is the difference between an OMS and a WMS?

An OMS (Order Management System) manages the lifecycle of an order: from arrival and payment through to shipping and returns. A WMS (Warehouse Management System) manages the physical movements in your warehouse: locations, picking, packing and counting. On most platforms these are separate tools. In Afosto, OMS and WMS are integrated: an order triggers the right warehouse action straight away, with no steps in between.

Does Afosto work with bol.com?

Yes. Afosto has a direct connection with bol.com. Orders come in automatically, stock is synced in real time and returns are handled from the same dashboard. You do not have to manage bol.com separately.

Can I use Afosto alongside my existing Shopify webshop?

Yes. Afosto can run alongside an existing Shopify shop through an API connection, so orders from Shopify are processed centrally in Afosto. You can also switch fully to the built-in Afosto webshop, that is up to you.

How long does it take to set up Afosto?

Most retailers are up and running within a few days. Afosto has a self-service onboarding flow, documentation per integration and a support team for technical questions. For complex connections (multiple locations, ERP) customers typically allow 2 to 4 weeks for full implementation.

Which businesses is Afosto not suited to?

Afosto is designed for retailers with 1 to 50 locations in the Netherlands and Belgium. The platform is not a fit for starting dropshippers with no physical product, hobby sellers, or enterprise organisations with more than 50 locations that need a dedicated enterprise ERP.

Is Afosto's OMS also suitable for B2B orders?

Yes. Afosto supports B2B-specific functionality such as customer-specific price agreements, payment terms and quotes. B2B and B2C orders are managed in the same system, with separate settings where needed.
