Search engines

You need to create a search engine to search one or more sources. You can have several search engines in your account. Don't have a source yet? Then create a source first.

The creation of search engines is done in the managed environment of Instant Search.

The structure of your search engines can be, for example:

  • A general search engine for your German website that searches by:
    • A data source with general pages
    • A data source with all products
  • A search engine for your Dutch website that searches by:
    • A data source with general pages
    • A data source with all products
  • A knowledge base search engine for your German website that searches by:
    • A data source with knowledge base articles
  • A knowledge base search engine for your Dutch website that searches by:
    • A data source with knowledge base articles

With the above structure, you can set up a site search for both the German and Dutch website that searches the entire site. This search engine can be linked to a search bar in the header, for example. In addition, you can set up a search bar specifically for the knowledge base, which you link to the search engine that is linked to the data sources with knowledge base articles.
