Apps 4.0 - Spooler - Hubs

A Spooler hub is a small computer that needs to hang in your local network in order to then connect to all available printers within that network. Each hub has scanning functionality that can scan the network for printers. Each hub includes unique software that must be configured and installed in advance. For more on installing a hub, see: Hub Installation

The hub delivered will already be pre-configured. So reconfiguring the hub will generally not be necessary.

When you open Spooler you get an overview of all available hubs in the network. Behind each hub you will find the network status of the hub. If the hub is connected to the internet it will say ‘online’. If a hub is offline, it is not connected to the internet or it is switched off.

You can click on a hub to view and edit the printers, logs and settings of that particular hub. Then you will find 3 tabs and other options of the hub.

Printers

All the printers that are in the hub’s network are listed in this list.

Logs

All error messages received by the hub are logged here. For example, if a printer is connected to a wrong IP address and you send a print job to it it will show up here.
