Add warehouse positions

Manual: Adding Warehouse Positions via Bulk Action (OMS/WMS)

With this bulk action, you can link multiple warehouse positions to products in your warehouse at once within afosto.app (OMS/WMS).

Use this when you:

  • Set up a new warehouse

  • Add new racks/bins

  • Want to link SKUs to additional pick locations

  • Use temporary overflow locations

Step 1: Go to the Bulk Action

  • Log in to afosto.app.

  • Open Processes > Bulk Actions.

  • Choose: Add warehouse positions.

You will now see a spreadsheet input screen.

Step 2: Select warehouse and business

  • Give your bulk action a unique reference.

  • Select the warehouse where you want to execute this action.

  • Select the** business** where you want to execute this action.

  • Click Next to continue with the bulk action.

Step 3: Paste Your Data into the Spreadsheet

You can copy and paste your data directly from Excel or Google Sheets.

The following columns can be used (* = required):

[object Object]

What Is Required?

SKU* (required)

  • The unique product code in Afosto.

  • The SKU must exactly match what is in the system.

  • Without a valid SKU, no position can be added.

Position* (required)

  • The warehouse location where the product is physically stored.

Examples:

  • A1-01-03

  • PICK-02

  • BULK-01

A SKU can have multiple positions.

What Do the Optional Fields Mean?

Limit

This specifies how many units can be stored at this position.

Practical use:

  • Pick location has space for 20 units.

  • Bulk rack has space for 200 units.

The system can use this for replenishment and internal transfers.

Is Temporary

Use this when the position is temporary, for example:

  • Seasonal storage

  • Promotion island

  • Overflow during busy periods

A temporary position can later be easily cleaned up without affecting your permanent structure.

Step 4: Check Your Input

Always verify:

  • Are all SKUs spelled correctly?

  • Is every Position entered correctly?

  • Are you using consistent naming? (e.g., A1-01-01 vs A01-1)

Step 5: Process the Bulk Action

  • Click Execute.

  • The system will validate the rows.

  • Any errors will be shown per row.

  • If successful, the positions become active immediately.

The new positions are now available for:

  • Picking

  • Replenishment

  • Internal transfers

  • Inventory registration
